After installing Red Hat 9 & Gnome from a box set of CDs, including RPMs for CUPS and Ghostscript, I received the following errors trying to install QTR from the usr/share/QuadToneRIP2-beta directory: [root@localhost QuadToneRIP2-beta]# sh make-quadtonerip cc -g -O -c -o qline.o qline.c make: cc: Command not found make: *** [qline.o] Error 127 cc -g -O -I. -DQUADPATH=\"`cups-config --datadir`\" -c -o quadraster.o quadraster.c /bin/sh: line 1: cups-config: command not found /bin/sh: line 1: cc: command not found make: *** [quadraster.o] Error 127 [root@localhost QuadToneRIP2-beta]# I am a Linux neophyte am can only guess that some of the system files are not living where the make-quadtonerip script expects them to be. I viewed the script thinking I could edit it, but it made no sense to me. I looked at Linux many years ago & am impressed with the strides they have made, but installing software is still a nightmare... thanks in advance, BK
