This really belongs in a Canon 10D group. There are several on Yahoo! Groups. The brief answer is that the hot metal filter blocks so much IR, it is absolutely impactical to use the Canon 10D for IR photography. There are PS actions that claim to give images an IR look by using old photographic techniques such as solarization and posterization.
