The costs are similar, and the results with IP are far superior for a couple of reasons. (1) BO printing uses just one color and dithering. The dithering pattern is usually quite obvious. Some people do not mind them, but many people do. When you use the full 7-colors available on the Epson 2200 for B&W, you get continuous gray tones without dithering. (2) The results are very unreliable. I used BO printing with the Epson 2200 and got prints that were acceptable only with the lighter weight Arches Infinity paper. (3) Third party inks violate the warranty on your printer, and they tend to cause problems over time. Clogging, issues with drying time, etc. Just look at the threads here and on the Epson 2200 group from people with third-party ink problems. If you use IP Lite, you will have less bronzing and neutral gray tones with the Epson Ultrachrome inks. Cheers, Mitch
