I am new to this board and have been monitoring (with great interest) the continuing exhange of opinion and fact regarding digital BW output. It is of particular interest since I have had a number of requests for my images in BW. Generally, I shoot with a Nikon D100, (NEF Raw), correct color to my liking and convert to bw by either selecting the most favorable RGB channel or more often go from the lightness channel in LAB color and then saving to grayscale. I am achieving satisfactory results on the screen, but the RGB output, for the most part does have a color cast of some sort. My editing software is PS/CS. My printer is an EPSON 2200. I went to the MIS site to see about the much-heralded Eboni, but in my on inimitable manner failed to click the correct link. For those of you who have graciously stuck with me to this point, my questions are: 1. Is BO output from the black cartridge only ... or do you put black cartridges in all the slots? 2. What is the simplest way to start the experimental output (shortest learning curve) ... and then graduate to curves, workflows, etc.? Thanks for your patience from down here in LA (Lower Arkansas). Kindest regards, Joe
