If you print in color mode, it uses all colors to create the grayscale. If
you print in black only mode, it appears to use only black, not gray. I've
looked with a loupe, and I couldn't find any colored dots, although if there
were only a few widely scattered ones, I suppose it's possible that I missed
them.
