I can usually get it to change by clicking on the 2200 print monitor icon in the Windows tool bar so it comes up and tells me the ink levels. Either that and/or in the printer dialogue going to Maintenance>Printer & Option Info and clicking on the ink. Usually does it. But the other day it just wouldn't switch. I shut down and restarted - nothing. (sometimes refreshing the USB drivers/printer port does it too....) In the end I had to shut down, physically unplug the printer for 30 sec. Power up the printer and then reboot. - Finally, that did it. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason to how easy or hard the printer is going to make changing the black ink... tim
