Tom Husband asked: <<Did you have clogging with the VM ink? I'm suffering through some awful clogging on my 1280 (no CIS) and UT ink and have thought that UT2 might be different.>> Only minor clogging problems with the VM/CIS in my 1280 over a period of 2-2\ufffd years, and this was probably due to periods of inactivity that could be as long as a week. To give you an idea of how much/little I've used this printer, the second (and final) set of VM 4-ounce bottles lasted me about 18 months. I think the first set of bottles lasted about a year. The only problem I've had with the 1280 was a minor mechanical problem that was easily repaired at a service center. I've only done the paper towel/Windex head cleaning process once on this printer. (It's been necessary to do this type of head cleaning far more often on my 3000 with Generations 4 inks.) The 1280 CIS has been trouble-free. I change cartridges whenever I get new bottles of ink.
