Just a quick note to say that I switched my CIS inks in my 1280 from VM to the UT2 yesterday. Everything went smoothly and I've had no banding, clogging or other problems so far. If problems develop, I'll let you all know. Thanks, Paul! I can no do photo restorations in sepia. Tom Keesling Intelligent Design, Inc.

I'm suffering through some awful clogging on my 1280 (no CIS) and UT ink and have thought that UT2 might be different. Tom

Tom Husband asked: <<Did you have clogging with the VM ink? I'm suffering through some awful clogging on my 1280 (no CIS) and UT ink and have thought that UT2 might be different.>> Only minor clogging problems with the VM/CIS in my 1280 over a period of 2-2\ufffd years, and this was probably due to periods of inactivity that could be as long as a week. To give you an idea of how much/little I've used this printer, the second (and final) set of VM 4-ounce bottles lasted me about 18 months. I think the first set of bottles lasted about a year. The only problem I've had with the 1280 was a minor mechanical problem that was easily repaired at a service center. I've only done the paper towel/Windex head cleaning process once on this printer. (It's been necessary to do this type of head cleaning far more often on my 3000 with Generations 4 inks.) The 1280 CIS has been trouble-free. I change cartridges whenever I get new bottles of ink. MIS? Tom

Tom Husband asked: >>Thanks Tom. One more quick one. Where did you buy your CIS? MIS?<< Tom, No, MIS' isn't technically a "CIS." They have their own design that goes by another name if I'm not mistaken. I bought mine back when the developer of the CIS concept was selling them directly. I get my empty carts from inkjetart.com and I believe they carry the CIS and replacement parts. Tom Keesling Intelligent Design, Inc.
