So Much for Posting Tutorials

2004-01-19 by Glenn Mitchell

It seems the moderator has blocked the ability of members to add
anything to the Files area.

Who needs such heavy-handed censorship? I wasn't aware this group
was so nervous someone might disagree, that even legitimate
expression that offers helpful information gets restricted.

I don't participate in censored forums. I hate them, as a matter of
principle. They are antithetical to artistic expression.

So much for loading the tutorials I mentioned. I'll withdraw the
offer and leave this group. There are open and tolerant groups on
Yahoo! Groups and elsewhere on the Web.

If you want to obtain the tutorials, feel free to e-mail me
(gmitchel850@...). You can also find them at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Canon10D
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ImagePrint

For those who wondered why I posted these tutorials elsewhere in the
past instead of here, now you know the answer. ;)

I expect this message will get deleted. That's my experience in the
past with this moderator. :( I know others who have had similar
interactions.

While this message does contain helpful information, like where to
obtain the tutorials, open criticism is not tolerated here. I've
been told as much by the moderator by e-mail. He considers messages
such as this to be a flame.

Why did I return to this group? I figure everyone needs to start
over again once in a while. I had hoped that the moderator had
learned to be a little more reasonable.

Perhaps toleration will become the norm here in the future. ;) Maybe
this message will spark such a change. I suspect, a new moderator
will be needed before open discussion about digital B&W fine art
printing is allowed here.

Fortunately, this message will go out to those who subscribe by e-
mail before it gets zapped by the moderator. ;)

Cheers,

Mitch
