Recently I got a cartridge of MIS Eboni to try in my Black Only printing on an Epson 2200. I have been using the standard 2200 driver on my Mac G4 and Epson Enhanced Matte paper. I am pleased with the more neutral tone of the Eboni prints, but I have noticed that the depth and richness of the print have been diminished. The blacks are not as deep and the highlights look less radiant than the prints made with Epson matte black ink. In general the Eboni tonal scale looks much narrower. Is this unavoidable, or is there a way to get more tonal scale out of Eboni ink? Is there a curve or a driver or something that was developed for BO on the 2200 using this ink? If this is as good as Eboni can do, I think I will live with the brownish Epson ink. Thanks.
