Daniel, I don't have any great ideas. If it happens on different printers and on different inks, it seems hard to blame it on hardware. The drivers all put the ink down in their own way -- i.e. the microweave is a driver software feature. I guess its possible that gimp-print's method is not as tolerant of some difference, but this isn't a common issue and you say it used to be ok. Have you used other papers, like matte? Do the patterns show up then? Have you cleaned underneath the heads, using a paper towel and windex or some mild cleaner?
