Paul Roark said: "In light of the strong dmax readings we're getting with the Ilford Smooth and Epson Premium Semigloss, Glossy, and Luster, those are the RC papers I recommend." Okay, I give in on Semimatte. One last question: As between Luster and Semigloss, Paul, do you have a preference? My recollection (it's been a long time) is that Luster has a pebbly surface that I didn't like but that Semigloss had a smoother surface (and Semimatte the smoothest of all). I associate textured surfaces with One-Hour Photo prints, and much prefer the smooth, dull-lustered surface of a fiber photo paper. That was why I first opted for Semimatte -- Luster was too pebbly, Semigloss was too shiny. If I'm going to abandon Semimatte, which archival RC paper do you like/prefer that will have a pleasing surface, and take the UT2 inks well with the curves you are developing? I appreciate that there is no right answer here -- just asking your preference and thoughts. Sanders McNew www.mcnew.net [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
