If you scan with a color setting, then it tries to remove the orange mask
which doesn't exist--hence the funny color. I have no idea which channel
would or should be best under those circumstances. But if you scan in B&W
setting and invert to get a positive, the green channel may be less noisy
just because the green CCD captures a little more light energy.
