What are the best settings for the Spectrocam and what reading are you using to determine dmax? 
Mine is set to observer 2 degree, illuminant D50, density status I, absolute checked (in CIE Data Window). 
Which do you read:
Density values (C,M,Y,Vis)
L,a,b,C
hue
u,v
Thank you very much. I have always wondered which reading actually is giving the dmax.

That'll do it. Of course, you don't need the whole wedge just to find the
Dmax. But it's worth knowing if the paper/ink/driver combo clips at the low
end--often, you find the last few patches are nailed to black. I suppose
it's even possible that 100% will be less dense than 95%, because of the way
the driver mixes colors with the black.
