It really wasn't difficult and set up in about 20 minutes. It was very convenient for printing a large series of 7x17 inch images. It was also nice when I did not need to swap cartridges for a year. Currently I am refilling cartridges for my 1280, I would say that it is much more of a hassle and time consuming than using a CIS (and messy if you accidentally drop your syringe). However, I have been using the printer to experiment with different inks to find the right B&W combination for me, as well as dropping in color cartridges if need be. Bottom line, if you are going to use one inkset only, use the CIS. I would suggest starting with a preloaded UT2 cart. It gives a great amount of flexibility and the quality is amazing. If you like the output, the extra cost of a CIS is no big deal. > > Anyhow, I am interested in hearing comments related > your experiences > with this combination, and with refilling > cartridges, both good and > bad. Unfortuately, it was much worse off than the one it was meant to replace. From an outward look, it appeared to be heavily used. I loaded and printed a few images with the Piezography driver and it was not up to the tolerances of the Plug-in. In a bit of inspiration, I used the OEM inks provided in the refurb as cleaning carts for my original printer - and that solved all of my problems. My biggest problem was this, I purchased a brand new printer and babied it. I used a total of 1.5 color cartridges in it and it started mis-firing in the black position. To fix the problem, Epson sent me a tired, old, and used printer to replace it. It may be a good deal from epson, but... Don __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
