Mis-alignment of this type can cuase all sorts of weird problems from simple loss of sharpness to 'herringbone'patterns. Unless you can get it absolutely perfect (and confirm that by checking with a lupe for double dots where there should be only one)its better to just give up the speed and turn it off.
