I have learnt that a colour managed (read: synced) workflow simply will not yet produce good B&W. If you use a profile you are still stuck with how the Epson driver produces shade of grey x, ie the mix of colour inks to produce grey. This is the fundamental problem and no profile will help. Hence the solution is found in either (a) using a different driver/RIP which better controls the colour inks (ie QTR or Imageprint) or (b) quad ink sets that have no colour (except for tinting) or c) black only. It can be found on the epson support site...just there for 9600 and 7600 but lots of info that says it might work for the 2200 as well. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/EditorialAnnouncement.jsp? If no one else replies that they are using them successfully, I would pass. cheers, Tom O'Connell Please visit the Group Homepage to check the Files, and other resources as they are often being updated. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint If you wish to receive no emails or just a daily digest, or you wish to unsubscribe, please edit your Membership preferences by visiting this same page.
