At any rate, they're handy gadgets, because they make vacuum-refillng easy if you're going to keep using dye inks. I found that if I tape the vent holes shut (after I've sucked out as much ink as possible with them open) and create a vacuum with a syringe, the valves keep the vacuum when I pull away the syringe. I then apply a loaded syringe to the chamber, and the vacuum sucks in the ink. Takes a little parctice to get the right vacuum, etc., but it's worth the effort! Steve Karafyllakis
