I have just started to use Quadtone RIP on my 1160 with MIS FS inks.......It works pretty well. Has anyone come up with a decent profile for Epson Enhanced Matte paper yet? I am getting a little too much ink in the darker areas. I have not had time to use the profiling software included but it looks like it will work. There is probably a combination of the two "sample" profiles provided that will do the trick. I am also planning on using the John Wolfe Workflow solution with the Quadtone RIP and see if I can combine the two. That might seem a little redundant but I can't take the time right now to come up with a profile. The Quadtone Rip and also Gimp for color printing seems to solve a lot of the problems encountered when switching to OSX. If you are like me and had every thing "hitting on all cylinders" in system 9 but were frustrated with all the roadblocks in system 10 and just went back to working in 9, fear not, the day is coming when OSX will work as well. I know that some of you are already doing that after investing time and money on new solutions. But for those of us who need to make prints without learning new work flows every few months this period has been rough and tumble. I look forward to the coming months when easier and less costly solutions appear. Andrew Brilliant www.brilliantpictures.com
