I need to get going with some printing for a portfolio, so although I might want to get a 4000, I need something right away. I have a few options. One is an Epson 1160 printer with CIS setup from a service bureau I work with for $200. Another is to buy a refurbished or new Epson 1280 (around $350-$400)and the last is to buy an Epson 2200 at around $650. Certainly I'd rather spend less than more, but are there any compelling reasons for going with one printer over another in terms of quality, realiability or consistency. I don't want to scrimp if I pay for it in wasted time or lost materials. I just need to make a decision and get going with printing in the next couple of days to meet some deadlines. I'm considering going with the Sundance or Piezo Tone systems. Any thoughts on the printer and inksets would be appreciated.
