I believe the R800 is printing in color when black printing is selected because the prints have a cast that changes depending on the temperature of the light. Also because on a 21 step gray scale print, the midtones have a different cast than the highlight and the shadow chips. And when examined through a loupe, the chips do appear to be composed of different color dots. Ed
