I also do both color and B&W, and just got a LaCie Electronnblue 22 and am pretty happy with it. The only complaint I have is that I don't like the fine horizontal lines on the screen (I think it's from where the masks join up) but I think that's unavoidable in a 22" monitor. Whatever you get, plan on spending ~$200 more for a monitor calibration tool. Even the best monitor will drift around over time, and what's the point of spending $700 for a monitor if you don't know the colors are as close as they can be to objective?
