You are, of course, quite correct and it is therefore quite unlikely that
using the new ICC profiles with Mr A.N Others inks would produce an
acceptable result.

Actually I think we should encourage the chap to try the new curves because
if by some fluke they worked, we would have discovered an answer but without
the associated risk. If however it becomes "cock-up time in B&W land", we
will have confirmation of what we already know to be true and he will have
wasted all his own "hard earned" and non of ours.
