Jerry, >I have been using eboni black only printing with my new epson >2200 . I amd using a pc MSxp pent 4, with PS CS and epson enhanced >paper. I would like to try quadtone now . What do I need for >software? What is the recommended route to go. I presume I get my >inks from MIS but the software and cost will be a factor MIS should have the UT7 inks on its web page very soon. (See http://www.inksupply.com/index.cfm?source=html/qn.html ) I have the inkset (which is like UT2 for the 1280) running in a 2200 with the Epson driver. No other software is needed. The UT7 inkset is a variable-tone B&W inkset that can be printed from any application and cover the tones medium warm through neutral just by adjusting the Epson driver sliders. With Photoshop or Picture Window, however, much more flexibility is available. With (free) image adjustment curves the inkset goes from sepia to cool. It also prints on gloss or matte paper when Eboni matte black is installed. So, the MIS UT7 inks are all you need to buy. MIS or I will supply curves.
