RE: [Digital BW] UT vs UT2 for glossy..

Daniel,

Yes, that is one reason I made the inkset. The UT inks tend to flood the
paper (too much light ink), and the dark cool toner has a bit too much
magenta in it. (It was made for quads. The UT2 inkset is the first one I
made specifically for modern printers.)

If you have a 1280 or better, the UT2 is the way to go.

With curves the UT2 inkset allows glossy printing with Eboni installed. It
just uses the midtone inks. The dmax is about 5% less than with Photo K.
With the glossy papers the dmax is so impressive that 5% is not enough of an
improvement to mess with. This is especially true since the 5% PK advantage
comes with a gloss differential that is irritating.

>Any rub off problems on PSPP with UT2 like I've seen with UT?

I assume that is from the Eboni. If you use the UT2 & Eboni with the
"Eboni-glossy" curves, you'll have 100% glossy-compatible inks on the paper.
There is some gloss differential on most papers. I recommend a spray to
eliminate this, reduce bronzing, and protect the print.
