That is probably the case. I pull the lightest ink (blue curve,
yellow-position [sepia]) up to the top to turn it off. As such the dark
gray and dark cold gray inks are all that is left. Two inks firing gives a
better dmax than one ink by itself, even though the ink limit -- total ink
allowed by the driver - may be the same.

Yes. The standard PK curves I've made for the UT2 inkset use PK in the
usual manner.

Yes.

Tehre are a number of gloss differential "artifacts." The one I'm referring
to is that with 100% PK the glossy papers often get a mirror like look to
them at the 100% black patch. I don't think it looks very good.
