Yes, GIMP is a major conflict with Epson drivers, at least in some cases. I know one where an Epson rep was driven to formating a customers drive to get rid of them. There is a GIMP uninstaller on the web that worked for me, but I hear that it does not work in all cases, golly knows why. Also if you do want to go ahead with GIMP, they are on the 10.3 CD's, #3 I think? and you can just install them without reinstalling the OS. You might even already have them by accident from the original install. I did.
