Goshawk is same base paper (15 mil, 100% cotton, acid free, bright white, mouldmade) as Osprey, Peregrine, Aerie, & Talon. Coating was same formulation, just applied in different manner. Goshawk has been discontinued as we have improved technique since then. Goshawk printed bright colors slightly better than Osprey, but Osprey printed better black. We still have some sheet stock available, but when that is gone, Goshawk is extinct <G>. Yes, inkjet receptive coatings can have calcium carbonate, silica, gelatin, starch, PVA, clay, plus a myriad of other chemicals. George had replied about coatings on the 9000 list, I believe, as he does not subscribe to this or the leben list. We make 2 coatings at present (Osprey & Merlin). Not sure what in the Osprey coating makes it not waterproof. Will have to check that out. We formulated our coatings to work well with pigment based inks to provide the best color gamut and longevity possible. We don't market our papers as waterproof or for outdoor applications. And we are working on new papers and coatings all the time.
