Digital BW, The Print

I'm printing along just fine with my 1280 and then these weird black 
dots show up on the right hand edge of some printouts. Then there got 
to be these faint black lines through the middle of the page as well, 
and depending on the paper, sometimes random splatters of black. 
Anyone experienced this? Do I just need to clean something? I'm using 
the standard epson black cartridge right now. I will try to contact 
Epson, but I thought since there were so many 1280 users here you 
guys might know. Feel free to reply off list if you wish.
