Mike, >I'm about to give up on Piezography, not because of the quality of >the prints, they're fine. I can't solve my clogging problems. Is >there a hextone system that will run on the 1200 without >poisoning it? I'm not sure if anyone answered your question yet, so I'll volunteer some information. The MIS FS inksets have the same densities as the Piezo inksets. As such, both the older FS inks and the new UT-FS inks can be used with the Piezo driver(s). Also, MIS had an old FS-E series that was geared to the Epson driver, although a grayscale adjustment curve was needed. The UT-FS inks could also be loaded in the new Piezo hex order and controlled by either the Piezo ICC approach or a simple curve. Additionally, I believe some have used the UT1 inks in the 1200 with the old MIS VM 1200 curves. There can be minor differences between what the UT1 and VM inks run optimally with, however, and I can't say how well the old curves work with the UT1 inks. These inks may not be in cartridges for the 1200, so either a CFS of empty carts that you'd have to load may be necessary. I think at least one person on the forum was going to try the UT2 inks in the 1200 also. I have not done this and don't recommend the UT2 for any printer older than the 1280. At any rate, there are inks available that should work well in the 1200. Hope this helps. Paul www.PaulRoark.com For UT2 information, curves, and settings see: http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/
