Re: [Digital BW] Autofx Photographic Edges

2004-03-19 by lea

I have a hunch you're doing something wrong...those edges are designed
to be used on photographs and indeed I've seen them on photos as large
as 16x20" without a bit of jaggie. The edge should conform to whatever
the resolution of the image you're applying it to...you might check to
make certain your image is in the 300 ppi range before you do the edge
effect.

Subject: [Digital BW] Autofx Photographic Edges

Has anyone used this set of filters with success? A friend of mine has
it and I was able to
try it for just a short while. The range of Edge effects in particular
is quite appealing but I
was surprised to see that they are very very low resolution. That is to
say, if I try to do an
edge effect for an A3 print then the effect is a bunch of squares like a
low res jpeg when
viewed even at 50%. I guess this can then be blurred or something but
then the
underlying image is blurred also which is by no means ideal. Was I
doing something
wrong or is this as good as this thing gets?

Regards

Steve
