Bob, Here is a good link for the Epson 4870 scanner.  It is quite
extensive staring with opening the box all the way to making scans.

My 4870 just arrived this week so I have not given it a complete shake
down as yet.  First impressions are very good though.  The 120 film
holders are still poorly designed but Doug Fisher has made what appears
to be a very good one for this scanner and 120 film.  I just ordered
them from him.  His email is filmholder@....

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Epson 4870. I had been wanting 
to get a scanner that would also permit me to scan medium format 
negs. The CoolScan 9000 seems to be way overpriced. A thousand 
dollars difference between it and the 500, just to scan larger negs. 
The 4870 looks like a reasonable compromise.
