The media type is the usual way I cut back the ink load. 

(One advance in the 2200 is that there is what appears to be an ink load
adjustment -- the "color density" slider in "Ink Config.")

Yes.

I don't know.  Try some things.

Yes, by having the Blue curve all the way to the top, the driver puts in
only the other two inks.  Because they are both quite dark, together they
give a very good dmax on glossy papers.
