Thanks Paul,

One more question please.  Is it better to just work on and edit the 
image with that custom grey profile that you made using that 
technique? Instead of assigning as a proof view?

I understand the proof view does not change the image at all which I 
guess is useful when you are working in RGB and want to see what the 
grey print will look like without actually assigning the profile to 
that image.
