Steve-- I just did exactly that. I have printed exactly one print on the 1280, and that was on PGPP, but the dmax difference between that and the same print on HWM was stunning ( I should, of course, do an apples to apples comparison. I will, this weekend). I found that the 1200 prints were "rough" (paul roark's term) compared to a similar print in color on my 1270--that's part of what drove me to the change.
