RE: [Digital BW] UT 7 LK ink position?

2004-03-28 by Paul Roark

Carl,

Although it's a close call, I decided to use a cooled-down version of Light
Black for the LK position in UT7. The LK has very little effect on the
images except where no curves and no sliders are used. However, in that
"default" position where the driver assumes we want a true grayscale image,
the LK is used considerably all the way up to 60%. So, the prints are
warmer up to that point.

With most papers this didn't bother me. Moreover, if I want to cool the
print, the sliders or curves work fine. However, with Arches Hot Press, I
really want to have the LK used to the max. It makes for noticeably
smoother shadows on that paper. On Arches HP, the warm cross-over was
bothersome. So, that convinced me to use the neutralized LK.

Paul,

Which ink will be used in the 2200 LK ink position with the UT 7 inkset?

Carl
