Hi all A while back there was a discussion of printing with Eboni to RC paper such as Epson Premium Semi-gloss and fixing the print with Lyson Print Guard to avoid rub off and gloss differential. I would like to know how people were duping the Epson driver with respect to media type. To clarify, I just today installed a CFS from MIS on my Epson 2100. I ordered the CFS with Eboni ink rather than the standard Universal ink. However, the cart set they sent me as part of the CFS has the black position chipped as Photo black (T0341). As a result, whenever I try to print with the Epson driver with a matt media type I get the classic Jobs Stopped problem. I can only print if glossy or semi-gloss is selected in the media type. (With driver 1.6b from the Epson UK website, all media types are visible and able to be selected, ie both matt and gloss.) I called MIS and they have kindly agreed to send me a Matt chip (so that the black cartridge is consistent with the ordering of an Eboni cartridge subject to the resetting needs of the CFS.) However, I am wondering how, once I replace the chip, I will be able to print to RC papers. Were people simply ignoring the media change and still selecting Archival Matt Paper even when printing to semi-gloss? Or are my CFS chips messing with OS-X and the Epson driver ie a whole different problem? Regards Steve
