printing often helps. especially with the MIS double black which congeals if left to sit, which means to "stir" the bottle now and then. I have seen several inch long "snakes" of it finally be forced back out of the supply tube into the bottle. and of course the old reliable, use Epson inks. Have you seen any significant number of posts on clogs with Ep inks? realizing that you are talking a 1200, I wonder if one could use Ultrachrome inks in it somehow? no idea really and if you are happy with the HP which I presume is dyes, why not just use the Epson dyes? consider all the posts on here from the techno nuts and penny pinchers (LIKE ME, don't take offense) with plugged jets, color casts, etc. Scott --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Richard Smallfield <r.smallfield@p...> wrote: > Hi, > has anyone written an article on what *not* to do if you want your MIS experience to be stress-free? > > My experience is one of total exasperation and now that I have an HP 7660 (price of inks aside) I am amazed at its reliability. > > But I still want my 1200 for big prints. > > I know about not doing repeated cleaning cycles, but apart from that, if anyone has written a post on ten things not to do, I'd love to read it - because for so many people to be getting good use out of MIS inks, I must be doing something wrong. > > thanks, > Richard > -- > http://smallfield.vze.com > http://photos.smallfield.vze.com > > "A liberal is a man too broadminded to take his own side > in a quarrel." > --Robert Frost
