I am definitely looking at the Sample column and taking the second value down. I think this photospectrometer is on the blink - if I use chart and try to measure the strip by selecting patch (rather than strip with gaps) I get the same sort of errors eg 0-30 step values of just over 166 which would be a negative value when calculating log10(Y) to get the density figure. It¹s just weird that it seems to work in strip mode. I was wondering if I was simply doing something basic very wrong. Looks like I am dead in the water while I send this off to get checked out. Are you sure you are looking at the right column -- the first measurement shows up in th Reference column and all subsequent values are in the Sample column unless you manually switch back.
