The 1270 with Eboni UT2 produced good results with matte papers, but unacceptable artifacts with glossy-type papers. What I've found is that a major advance is the ability to use semi-gloss and pearl papers. The increase in dMax produces prints which are significantly closer to traditional silver prints. While many prints look fine on matte paper, some images really benefit from the increased tonal range of glossy-type papers.
