The best explanation of the prints is that they are a
superior version of black only prints from a 1280.

The c84 black only prints are lousy.  Don't even
attempt that route unless you have a burning desire to
try it.  If you are familiar with 1280 and 2200 black
only prints, their output is very similar to that of
the C84 with EZBW inks.  

Side by side the C84/EZBW is much smoother and
superior to the Black Only prints, with better
highlight details.  However, with a close inspection
the details are quite rough or textured similar to
that of the BO prints.
