Hi Tom, It's not certain I'm going to try this approach, but if I do then I'll be sure to share my experiences. I know how you feel with the "fish out of water" syndrome when it comes to Linux/Unix. I'm still more at home in Windows but I've been doing enough work in Unix environments (including Linux) over the past three years that I've at least got past the totally clueless phase. I doubt there will ever come a day when I'm fully comfortable editing text files in vi though ;o) Anyway, I've wandered off topic! -= mike =- -----Original Message----- From: Tom Husband Sent: 27 May 2004 21:16 To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Digital BW] Re: Septone options-QTR & Linux --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Nunan, Mike" <mike.nunan@c...> wrote: > I thinking of QTR running on Linux, although I see from past messages that > this is a bit of a wing-and-a-prayer job. I installed Redhat 9 on a dual boot system with XP Home. That worked just fine but Linux is so different from Windows. I struggled with the commands used to do just about everything. Roy was very helpful but I must have loaded something wrong or didn't load something I should have. Like I said the desktop portion of Redhat is great but after re-installing it three times to get QTR up I quit. Maybe I should tackle it again. I'd like to hear about your experience with it. I'd also like to see a Windows version of QTR. Good luck!
