Steadman et al, Did you see the story in yesterday's NY Times about the Damien Hirst installation? He set it all up in the gallery street window for his new show (Martin, I think it looked like our studios)....they had the opening reception and that night the custodian threw it out...said it looked like garbage...the gallery owner was quick to point out that he had only "set it aside" (meaning they were able to pull most of it out of the dumpster)...she was quoted as stating that it was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars...staff was able to put it back together, mostly. Hirst himself thought the whole thing was hysterically funny. Is art in the eye of the beholders or in the gallery's dumpster? ^ ^ * * \*/ t
