For monochrome, quad printing (I believe limited to 8"x10"), yes I 
would think the C84 would be equal to the higher-end Epson photo 
printers, such as the 1280 or 2200.

IMHO, the higher-end printers (with 6 or more colors), are superior 
for color work. The lowly (and discontinued) Epson 1160 (4-color) is 
still a favorite for monochrome printing.
