The hextone printers have somewhat less dense dots than the C82 or C84. That is, the hextone printers are very slightly smoother in the highlights. The C82 & C84 have smoothness that is essentially the same as the high-end UltraChrome printers (2200, 7600 and 9600) using the Image Print RIP, according to my tests. Not bad for a $70 (plus or minus whatever) printer. No printer can make a more archival print than the C82 or C84 using the MIS EZ inks and a good cotton paper, like Epson PremierArt matte Scrapbook paper. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
