FWIW, I went to one of my local Office Depots this afternoon to get a Canon inkjet (i560) with their $20 and $50 off deals. Their web site says they're out of stock and you can't add one to the cart on line, but the store had a half dozen of them on hand and gave me $20 off at the register with the coupon code number posted early on in this thread. The store also had several of the Epson C84 printers on hand, but since I wasn't sure that the $50 rebate was available on that one (the store clerk checked their on line rebate database from his terminal and said the C84 was NOT included, as I had been told by customer service yesterday on their 1-800 number - I do understand others have received the opposite advice from Office Depot) I went with the Canon. Net cost to me will be about $34, about $6 of which is sales tax. It will go to college with my daughter in the fall. I will be able to fill C, M and Y cartridges with Goodies ink and save her a bit on the color inks, but the black is a special pigmented ink in a fat cart that we will probably have to replace retail. Oh well . . . If I could have been sure that the C84 would qualify for the $90 of total discounts and rebates I would have bought one just to play with the MIS EZ inks, but since I already have Lyson Quads in a Canon 9000 and MIS UT Eboni in an Epson 860 to play with black only, I didn't feel like spending over $60 for another printer. Maybe somebody else will run a super special on it sometime again.
