Hi Ken, It may be that the bidirectional box is unchecked under printer/properties/ports...it is at the bottom of the page. If you find this the case check it and read your ink levels. Be sure to uncheck it when ready to print with IP as in some cases the bottom 1/2 inch or so of the image may not print correctly. (fade out). As far as running out of ink, the 2200 will flash a red light over the cart. running out of ink when low and will stay red when out and refuse to print until the cart is changed.
