I have been trying to use the Roark UT2 curves with my Epson 1280 printer and MIS UT2 inks, with mixed results. I am using Picture Window inasmuch as this program seems to handle the *.acv files well. (Or is this an unwarranted assumption?) The following is the "workflow" I am using: Open PW (Picture Window) Import a black and white image in 16 bit B&W format Perform: Transformation ->Convert to 24 bit color Transformation -> Color -> Curves Option : Reset Option : Load select Photoshop Curve files Select: UT2*.acv file (here I select from among the 4 options: dark sepia, light sepia, carbon, neutral) Apply (with RGB color space) I then print using: Photo Enhance Tone: vivid Effect: sharpness I seem to get "reasonable" results with the carbon and neutral files (i.e., the carbon is slightly warmer than the neutral). But the light and dark sepia results are very disappointing: the detail in the image is severely compromised, the prints are muddy and both sepias seem to have about the same value - rather light). I'd appreciate suggestions? Or am I asking too much of the Roark curves with this system? Thank you.
