Paul, Thanks for your response. You must be kept very busy answering emails - do you ever get a chance to "do your own work"? I've seen some of your images on your web page and am very impressed. Re your response: I seem to be able to get the curves working in PSP there is a "converter" that allows me to do that. At least clicking on the appropriate curve in the "Curves" window does something - and FWIW - I get essentially the same results when I use Picture Window.
