Hello all, I have two Epson 1280 printers and when I print the same image using the same ink (Eboni) the results are decidedly different. With the older printer the blacks are about one Zone lighter than the print from the newer printer. I can make adjustments to accommodate this difference, but I wonder what is the reason for such a large difference in ink laydown. Front end on both is 20% dot gain and back end is 15% and proofed at 20% dot gain. The older printer image is even warmer that the newer printer image, but I filled both the black cartridges at the same time from the same bottle of ink. That eliminates the possibility of differences in ink content coming into the equation. I haven't, or understand the need to make printing adjustments to the older printer to get the same results from both printers, but if that is going to be needed; there's no problem with that, but I would like to know what is causing the initial differences in prints. Any and all views on this will be appreciated and tried by me to further learn about printing idiosyncrasies. Your friend in Photography, Johnny
